Improve the model with Enhancer

Way 1

In PLS-SEM

1. 1Estimate the model, then check Results: Factor loadings marks loadings below the threshold in red and Convergent validity shows Not established where AVE is below 0.50.
2. 2Go back to SEM Model and click the wand (Auto model) in the canvas toolbar. Measurement enhancement opens. The wand stays disabled until the model is complete.
3. 3Set the Limits (Max rounds, Max indicator drops) and click Run Auto model. Stage 1 · Measurement drops the weakest loading first and re-estimates after every drop.
4. 4Results opens on the Enhancement log: Measurement before → after, and the Step log with each round's Change and Why. Dropped indicators leave the canvas.
5. 5Click Accept enhancement to keep the model, or Decline enhancement to restore it as it was.
6. 6Back on SEM Model, the canvas shows the accepted model: the dropped indicators are gone and the remaining loadings are updated.

Way 2

In CB-SEM (measurement model)

1. 1In a CB-SEM project, estimate the model, then check Results: CB-SEM model fit marks indices outside their guideline, Factor loadings flags loadings below 0.70 and Constructs reliability flags ρc below 0.70 and AVE below 0.50.
2. 2Go back to SEM Model and click the wand (Auto model) in the Measurement pane toolbar. Measurement enhancement opens.
3. 3Set the Limits (Max rounds, Max indicator drops, Safety ceiling · error covariances (Phase B)) and click Run Auto model.
4. 4Stage 1 · Measurement cleans the CFA first (weak or wrong-sign loadings, then AVE / reliability and HTMT/FL) and re-estimates after every drop. If fit still misses the Strict gates, Stage 2 · Modification indices frees error covariances between items of the same construct, round by round.
5. 5Results opens on the Enhancement log: Fit before → after, and the Step log with each round's Change, Why, M.I., CFI and RMSEA.
6. 6Click Accept enhancement to keep the model, or Decline enhancement to restore it as it was.
7. 7Back on SEM Model, the dropped indicators are gone from both panes and the freed error covariances are drawn on the Measurement pane.

The wand on the Structural pane runs Structural enhancement instead: Stage 2 only, on the joint model.
