Reverse-code items

Reverse negatively worded Likert items before modelling.

How to

  1. 1On the Data tab, click Clean, then Reverse-code.
  2. 2Pick the Column, check Min and Max, then click Add. Repeat for other items.
  3. 3Click Preview to check, then Apply & save version.

Good to know

  • The formula is new = (min + max) − old. The reversed column keeps its name; the original is saved as X_rev.
